I know this girl, she and i go backkkkk all the way till like elementary school, and she and i never saw each other again until high school, now. so then i ... liek her. alot. and she .. well i dunno, i imply to her letting her know that i like her and wanna be her boyfriend, and she kids back is she for real or not? for example: i told her last week half serious and joking : "hey! so are we still good on Saturday?" and she didnt know what i was talking about, cuz i made a fake date, for me and her, and she was like... well... maybeeee.. and then later on myspace on Saturday at night , she was lie "where were you! haha, i am heartbroken, you stood me up!" and i thought she was for real so my question is : what should i do now

ask her out. Not "half-jokingly", but seriously. Be very straightforward. Next time you talk to her, say, "Sorry about the confusion before," (in a friendly way), "would you like to go to the movies with me next weekend?" Or something like that. Or email her and ask her out. If you ask jokingly, then she's not sure whether you mean it, so she jokes back so she won't be embarrassed if it turns out you were only kidding.

Girls get insecure, too. She may want you to like her and not realize how much you DO already like her. It may be her style to tease boys so she doesn't feel too overwhelmed by the whole dating experience and "does he like me or doesn't he?" thing.

From what you describe, it sounds like she would like to go out with you. If you're still feeling wary, you could try just getting to know her again and be her friend. That could easily lead to a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. A lot of friendships do.

But you'll never know for sure until you take a deep breath and just ask her to go out with you. If you do ask, and she seems hesitant, you can always add, "I've liked you since elementary school and I'd like to renew our friendship." That may sound easier to her, if she's not ready to get serious with a guy yet. Some girls take longer to get to that stage where they're ready for dating and the things that go with it.

Take it slow, be gentle and honest, and maybe she'll be ready to be serious about it too.

i think she could probably like you back, altho i similiar situation happened with me and [now hes] my boyfriend. i sorta liked him butt i was kidding about asking him to be my valentine but he was serious, so that plays the whole role of the 'kidding around factor'. butt now we are together. sooo she probably is confused if she reallly likes you back, thats how i was.

Hun, what you need to do is BE SERIOUS!!!! I just dumped a guy because he was like that. He would say things and not follow thru. Then when i got upset with him he would say, what do you mean, i didn't think you were serious. It's too hard playing games. And your only doing it because you don't want to get hurt. Don't say anything to this girl if you can't follow thru. Show her you can be serious when you make plans with her. Still have a laugh together, but alway be reliable and someone she can count on.
