What is the Point in so many fake profiles on Myspace?

When I get home and it is late and I hit the browse button on Myspace...in my area so many profiles come up. It will have one (usually attractive pic of a girl) and then no other pics, nothing on the profile really, and maybe 1 friend...(Tom). What is the point in all of these profiles cluddering up everything. They dont seem to advertise anything unless they have some type of porn link. But it seems anyone who is anyone would realize this profile is fake and not mess with it. Who exactly are the people who create all these fake profiles and list them from my local area and all over. Is this some type of job they get payed to do or do people just do it to do it?

Myspace is a mess. A lot of invites you get are strictly for advertisement purposes. I would suggest you try facebook.com, which has a much cleaner interface, it's less cluttered, and the code is not as messy.

because they want to live fake lives. fake people make fake things, fake facts, fake everything. another word for these kind of people are LOSERS, NO-LIVES, and w/e you want to call them. or they are what you call virus/hack profiles. these are used to hack into people's profiles. or sometimes lead u into a virus

I don't have a Myspace, mostly because I'm too scared to get one...

In my case, if I were ever to get a fake profile, it would be to get me used to the "Myspace experience" and make me a bit braver. Some people can't get a real one because their parents don't want them too. I have a friend who has a fake Myspace, and she had a fight with her real Myspace just for one. It's completely opposite of her, all preppy and cliquey. Some people may want to express an alter ego they have... who knows?
